I am working on several SASE proposals and need clarity on how to accurately size the Cato Cloud Bandwidth license pool based on a customer's specific application hosting environment.
Could you please provide the recommended methodology or sizing formulas for the following scenarios:
- Cloud Hosted Applications (Azure, GCP, AWS): When a customer hosts their internal applications in public clouds, what is the best practice for sizing the bandwidth license for those specific sites (using vSockets or IPsec tunnels)? How do you calculate the required throughput based on expected user concurrency or application type?
- On-Premises Datacenter Applications: For legacy applications hosted in a physical datacenter behind a Cato hardware Socket, how should we size the bandwidth license allocated to that specific location? Should we simply match their existing VPN/Firewall throughput, or do you recommend calculating this based on the number of branches and remote (SDP) users that will be accessing it?
- Total Bandwidth Pool Calculation: Ultimately, how do these individual Datacenter and Cloud site requirements roll up into the total aggregate bandwidth pool we need to quote? Are there any standard baseline metrics (e.g., Mbps per concurrent remote user) that we can use as a rule of thumb for Private Access?
If you have a sizing calculator, a partner matrix, or official documentation on how to translate customer traffic requirements into the correct bandwidth license tiers, please share them with me.
Thank you,
