WAN Recovery

A few questions (to start),

  1. Do I use WAN IP configured for the actual interface for the "Public IP"?
  2. What IP do I use if the site is using DHCP for WAN?
  3. Do I need to enter a port? If So whats recommeneded?
  4. Do I only do this for the HUB sites?
  5. WHat if I have more than one HUB?

    1. Correct. Use a static IP assigned to a WAN interface.
    2. You would not configure an IP address for a site with only DHCP WAN interfaces.
    3. Recommended to enter an IP and a port for HUB sites but no recommendation on the port number. Port 4435 is in the KB example but you can use what you want.
    4. Recommended to configure a static IP and port on all HUB sites at a minimum, but you can add it to other sites.
    5. You can have multiple HUB's, usually datacenters or headquarters. Each would be configured with a static IP and port.

All accounts have WAN Recovery enabled by default in a MESH configuration. If you need to change your account to a HUB and SPOKE configuration please contact CATO Support or the Professional Services team.
